MDI

Pre Polymeric MDI

Prepolymers are reactive intermediates used in polymer manufacturing. They remain soluble and meltable, making them ideal for controlled processing. Polyurethanes can be produced through:

One-step method: Direct reaction of a polyol with a polyisocyanate

Two-step method: Formation of a prepolymer followed by chain extension to form the final polymer

Key Applications:
  • Cast polyurethane components
  • Rigid and semi-rigid foams
  • Flexible polyurethane foams
Common Uses Across Industries:
  • Insulation: Used in rigid polyurethane foams for thermal insulation in buildings, refrigerators, cold storage units, and refrigerated transport.
  • Construction: Used in insulated panels, pre-insulated pipes, and as a binder in engineered wood products such as particleboard and fiberboard.
  • Refrigeration: Essential for thermal insulation in household and commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Automotive: Used in seating, dashboards, headliners, and as a binder for composite parts.
  • Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers (CASE): Ideal for coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers, offering weather resistance, strength, and durability.
  • Footwear & Sports Equipment: Used in the manufacturing of footwear soles, protective gear, and sporting goods.
  • Binders for waste foam/Rubber Recycling: Prepolymer-based binders help convert waste foam and rubber into value-added products such as orthopedic mattresses and rubber flooring tiles.

Polymeric MDI

Polymeric MDI, or polymethylene polyphenyl isocyanates, is a liquid aromatic isocyanate commonly used in the production of rigid and semi-rigid polyurethane foams. It remains stable at ambient temperatures and is easy to store and handle down to -20°C.

Applications:
  • Construction panels
  • Spray heat insulation
  • Refrigerators
  • Car interiors
  • Insulations for refrigerators
  • Container transport
  • Insulation panels for construction
  • LNG carriers
  • Pre-insulated pipes
  • Board foam
  • Wood imitation
  • Spray insulations
  • Auto instrumental panel
  • Rigid and flexible foam
  • Foundry resin sand binders
  • Heat insulating material
Other Common Uses:
  • Paints
  • Adhesives
  • Sealants
  • Structural foams
  • Microcellular integral skin foams
  • Automotive bumper and interior parts
  • High-resilience foams
  • Synthetic wood
  • Thermal insulation rigid foam
  • PU coating
  • PU adhesive
  • Seepage-proofing
  • Structure foam
  • Automobile bumper
Storage Guidelines:
  • Store in sealed and dry containers
  • Ideal storage temperature: 15–35°C
  • Protect from frost (avoid temperatures below 5°C) to prevent crystallization
  • Maintain in a well-ventilated indoor area

Safety & Handling:
  • During handling, it is recommended to use a mask, gloves, and goggles

Emergency Response:
  • Skin Contact: Use soap & water. Wash thoroughly
  • Eye Contact: Rinse immediately with water for approximately 15 minutes
  • Inhalation: In case of inhalation, it is advised to move to fresh air, provide oxygen, or perform CPR
